Here you can find pictures of Z63 tools during work:
RIVETER
Use plastic sheet, or tape as a ruler but never use metal...
...just push slightly to the surface...
...and the result is well looking simulated rivet lines.
SCRIBING TOOL:
SCHAUBER ( UNIVERSAL ENGRAVING TOOL)
Hand made, universal, professional modeling tool made in Hungary. Main areas where it could be used: -Panel line scribing with pushing the tool, engraving other depressions or separation lines -Creating steps, overlapped panels on flat surfaces - widening holes, i.e. air intakes -cutting - removing flash from parts -thinnning edges -carving
Usage: Engraving line into sheet styrene: 1., Mark the line with pen or pencil. 2., Position the tool to the end of the line 3., Slowly, gently push the tool anong the line without a ruler! If you decrease the angle between the tool and the surface, you can create more delicate and sharper lines. If you increase teh angle, the tool can wonder away from the line easier and cuts into the plastic more easier. This way, you can engrave curved lines as well, but the tool can get stuck, too. Don't much too hard, always use it gently and push it with care!
Widening panel line, straightening wavy line: 1., Bank the tool to the side as shown on the drawing If the angle is wrong then don't try to correct it during scribing, but start again from the beginning of the line.! The tool can be used only with a push movement! For long lines, use a pull-scriber ( i.e.TAMIYA)
Note!
- Metal ruler can ruin the edge of the tool! - Use it free hand or along masking tape! - The tool is made of high resistant, hard steel. Don't drop it, don't beat it against hard surfaces because it can break or the edge can get jagged. The broken, jagged tool can cause an accident!
ATTENTION!
- MAKE IT SURE THAT IT DOESN'T GET INTO THE HANDS OF CHILDREN UNDER AGE 15!
- VERY SHARP!
- This tool is made based a middle age weapon, "spade". The stabs caused by shape of the edges would heal hard so in case of an accident, ask for medical help!
Good advice! Don't worry if you cannot scribe nicely for the first time! You'll need a lot of experience, but after that it will be a must have in your inventory!
